Fully Mechanized Top Coal Caving Mining Analysis in Xiagou Mine Under Jinghe River and Qravei Aquifer
Abstract:In order to solve the safety mining issue under the double water body dangers of the Jinghe River in the Jinghe Area of Xiagou Mine and the ultra thick Cretaceous gravel aquifer, the statistic analysis and empirical analogy method were applied to study the overbur- den strata structure features, the failure height of the overburden strata and water prevention coal and rock pillar width. The study results showed that the overburden strata in Xiagou Mine were medium hard and soft type, the mining thickness selected in Jinghe Area was 16 times higher than the estimated height of the water flow crack zone and the thickness of the protective seam selected as three times than the top coal caving thickness was suitable. The thickness of the water prevention coal and rock pillar was set according to 19 times thicker than the mining thickness. The major area could meet the conditions to set the water prevention coal and rock pillars. With the rational de- signed mining thickness, the fully mechanized top coal caving mining under the water body of Jinghe River could be ensured.
