Abstract:The No.5 mine in the western area of the Dananhu mining area in Hami contains high salinity mine water with a mineraliza-tion degree at about 16 g/L,and the processing and operation costs are high.In order to solve the shortage of water resources and a-chieve the maximum comprehensive utilization of mine water, ecological green space planting experiments were carried out to study the survival rate and growth trend of salt tolerant plants such as tamarisk, haloxylon ammodendron, nitraria tangutorum, and calligonum mon-golicum,and explore suitable irrigation methods.Experiments have shown that in high salinity environments, drip irrigation has a higher survival rate for seedlings than furrow irrigation. After 75 days of planting, the survival rate of nitraria tangutorum and calligonum mongo-licum was higher than 65%,and the growth of tamarisk, haloxylon ammodendron, nitraria tangut orum, and calligonum mongolicum was stable.Based on the experimental results,an ecological vegetation practice aimed at 100% utilization of mine water has been carried out, successfully achieving vegetation restoration and planting in 1.47 km2 desert areas. This not only significantly reduces the cost of environmental governance, but also creates an ecological and economic value of about 1.1 million yuan/a,demonstrating good environ-mental and economic benefits.
