Abstract:The clogging of large coal bunker is universal.Although a variety of coal bunker clogging prevention methods have been pro-posed at present, the technical realization of these methods is still lacking of theoretical and data support. Moreover, the installation and use of coal bunker clogging prevention equipment still have blindness.Based on the mechanical characteristics of particle interaction of bulk coal in coal bunker,a simulation model of flow characteristics of bulk coal in coal bunker was established by using discrete element method(DEM),the flow characteristics of bulk coal in coal bunkers was simulated and studied.Based on the similarity theory,a coal bunker experimental system was built to experimentally study the flow characteristics of bulk coal in the coal bunker. The results show that the dry bulk coal have good fluidity and the coal flow shows the characteristics of funnel flow characteristics. With the increase of water content of bulk coal, the fluidity becomes worse gradually. When the water content is 3%,the block fluid characteristics of bulk coal in the coal bunker are very obvious, and an arch shape is formed above the discharge port, causing the bulk coal in the coal bunker to lose its fluidity. The larger the size of coal particles, the worse the fluidity in the coal bunker. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the blockage mechanism of coal particles in the bunker from the aspects of coal particle size, water content and silo structure,so as to funda-mentally solve the blockage problem of coal bunker.
