Abstract:U.S.climate and energy policies exhibit significant differences depending on which political party is in power.Democratic administrations prioritize the promotion of clean energy and global climate governance, while the Trump administration, upon returning to power in 2025,continued to pursue an"America First"energy strategy, implementing the following measures:Strengthening support for traditional energy sources;weakening climate policy constraints;repealing or amending the Inflation Reduction Act;and emphasizing energy security and geopolitical priorities. As these policies are gradually implemented, they will have a significant impact on China's energy landscape. For example, energy price volatility, increased risks of import dependency, obstacles to energy transition, and intensified industrial competition pressures may arise, and these developments could also disrupt international energy cooperation.Based on the above analysis, the following strategies are recommended:Avoid blindly reducing fossil fuel use to ensure a balance between energy security and economic development;enhance independent innovation in the clean energy sector to improve technological and supply chain autonomy;and actively engage in global climate governance, promote international cooperation, and contribute Chinese solutions.
