Abstract:To enhance the efficiency of fugitive CH4 emission reduction in underground coal mines, contribute to China's implementation of the Glasgow Declaration of the United States and China, and to achieve the"30,60"goals successfully, this study used the panel data of specific well coalmines from 2016 to 2020,estimated the CH4 emissions from different sources based on their emission factors and analyzed their characteristics. The evaluation scope included both production processes and post-mining activities. The results showed:①The fugitive CH4 from well coalmines is characterized by rigidity in emission, are determined by emission intensity and coal output, and CH4 emissions from similar mines show heterogeneity;② The default values of IPCC emission factors and the emission factors from the literature are significantly higher than the source calculation results based on actual data, with a gap ranging from several times to tens of times, indicating the incompatibility of the average level with specific mines;③ The emission factor of mining process is significantly higher, contributing 30%to 50%of mine CH4 emission factor, which is significantly higher than that of excavation;④ The weight of goaf emission ranges from 30%to 70%,indicating the necessity of controlling CH4 emission from abandoned mines. The results of this study are helpful for enterprises to pay more attention to CH4 control and to take initiative in carbon asset management.
