Abstract:The impact of energy industry agglomeration on carbon emission efficiency is an important issue in the context of"double carbon target".Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2003 to 2022,this paper adopts the super-efficient SBM model to measure the carbon emission efficiency, and constructs a two-way fixed-effects and dynamic spatial Durbin model to analyze the impact of energy industry agglomeration. The study finds that:① energy industry agglomeration has a"U-shaped"nonlinear relationship with carbon emission efficiency.② Energy consumption structure plays a partly mediating role in the process of agglomeration influencing carbon emission efficiency.③ Energy industry agglomeration has a significant spatial spillover effect, energy industry agglomeration on carbon emission efficiency presents a"East-Central-West"decreasing regional differences in characteristics.④ The positive effect of new energy industry agglomeration on carbon emission efficiency is significantly higher than that of traditional energy industry agglomeration.Based on the conclusions of the study, this paper puts forward countermeasure suggestions such as optimizing the layout of energy industry agglomeration, accelerating the transformation of energy consumption structure, and strengthening regional coordinated development.
