Abstract:Based on the continuous growth of energy demand, the prominent structural contradiction of energy security and the imbalance of green development in China, the coal industry urgently needs to cultivate and develop new quality productivity. In this process, the practical exploration of digital transformation is gradually showing its driving and supporting role of the development of new quality productivity.Taking the data of China's coal A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2022 as the research sample, the fixed-effect model is constructed to examine the impact of digital transformation on the new quality productivity of coal enterprises. The study finds that digital transformation can significantly increase the level of new quality productivity of coal enterprises;innovation ability and managerial ability play a partial mediating effect;financial subsidies play a positive moderating role and tax incentives play a negative moderating role in the impact of digital transformation on the new quality productivity of coal enterprises.Heterogeneity analysis shows that digital transformation has a more obvious effect on improving the new quality productivity of coal enterprises in the Midwest and low-market coal enterprises. The findings of the study can provide empirical support and policy references for coal enterprises to utilize digital transformation to enhance new quality productivity in practice.
