Abstract:Under the dual pressures of carbon peaking/neutrality goals and ecological civilization construction,resource-based regions face structural contradictions between high emissions and low-carbon transition in their coking industries. This study selects Shanxi Province as a representative case and systematically analyzes the dynamic evolution pathways and multidimensional impacts of the coking industry under baseline,multi-integration,and technology disruption scenarios from an economic-social-environmental synergistic perspective.Findings reveal that hydrogen metallurgy breakthroughs and scrap steel substitution will significantly reduce coke production and weaken its economic contributions. However, industrial value can be redefined through"coking-hydrogen-chemical"chain integration. The study proposes phased transition paths involving progressive transition, industrial convergence, and substitution upgrading, emphasizing capacity optimization, technological innovation,cross-regional coordination, and policy support to balance traditional industry phase-outs with emerging sector development.
