Abstract:Urban green transformation is an era attribute and intrinsic characteristic shared by the"dual carbon"goals and new quality productivity. The new quality productivity, characterized by high technology, high efficiency, and high quality, drives deep changes in multiple aspects of urban economy, society, and environment through innovation-driven development, intelligent transformation, and improvement of energy structure, providing strong impetus and support for urban green transformation and being the key to achieving the"dual carbon"goals. This study focuses on the complex mechanism of new quality productivity empowering urban green transformation, using the dynamic QCA method and based on provincial panel data from 2013 to 2022,to explore the configurational effects of the level differences of new quality productivity empowering urban green transformation over time. The research results show that none of the seven antecedent conditions of new quality productivity empowering urban green transformation constitute a necessary condition for high-level urban green transformation, and a combination and synergy of multiple conditions are required.High-level urban green transformation presents three configurations, and two configuration paths are extracted:"synergistic drive of new quality talents and technolo-gical capital for urban green transformation"and"ternary synergy of science and technology, information, and green for urban green transformation".In the temporal dimension, the consistency of the three configurations collectively declined in 2020,which may be related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic;in the spatial dimension, there are no significant differences among the three configurations across provinces.
