Abstract:Based on the background of China's green and low-carbon development,a panel vector autoregression(PVAR)model was established to empirically analyze the interaction mechanism between green technology innovation, economic growth and carbon emission intensity using panel data from 30 provincial-level administrative regions from 2012 to 2022.The results show that there is a two-way granger causality between the change of carbon emission intensity and the change of economic growth level, which exhibits an asymmetric mutual inhibition between them. There is also a two-way granger causality between the improvement of green technology innovation level and the improvement of economic growth level, both of which promote each other from weak to strong and then weak. The improvement of green technology innovation level inhibits the increase of carbon emission intensity, and it gradually weakens with the passing of time. The research conclusion is of great significance for promoting China's green technology innovation, energy saving and carbon reduction, and developing green and low-carbon economy.
