Abstract:Global climate change is intensifying, placing increasing pressure on economies to reduce emissions.Balancing economic growth with carbon emissions has become a critical challenge.Carbon Emission Efficiency(CEE),as a key indicator to measure the carbon emission level per unit of economic output,is a direct reflection of the effectiveness of regional emission reduction.Again this backdrop, based on panel data from 30 provincial administrative regions in China from 2000 to 2021,this paper uses the Super-SBM model to calculate the CEE level of each province. The modified gravity model is applied to construct an inter-provincial CEE correlation network, and its structural features and dynamic evolution are analyzed. The results show that:① There is significant spatial heterogeneity in inter-provincial CEE in China, with an overall distribution pattern of"high in the east and low in the west".High-efficiency provinces are mainly concentrated in the economically developed eastern coastal areas;② The impact path of inter-provincial CEE has gradually shifted from an initial dispersed state to core areas such as Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei;③ The spillover driving effect among high-and medium-efficiency provinces is significant, but the promotion effect on low-efficiency provinces is relatively limited. There exists a"spillover effect barrier"in low-efficiency provinces during the regional collaborative improvement of CEE.This study is of great practical significance for optimizing regional cooperative emission reduction pathways and enhancing overall carbon emission efficiency.
