Abstract:With the advancement of global energy transformation, distributed energy and microgrids,as important components of smart grids, have received widespread attention.Microgrids combine renewable energy, energy storage systems, and load management to improve energy efficiency and grid stability. The critical role of energy storage systems in microgrids makes their configuration and scheduling strategies a hot research topic. This article takes a microgrid in Hunan Province as an example to explore the optimization configuration problem of energy storage based on time of use electricity prices.A multi-objective optimization model combined with particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO)is proposed to minimize the life cycle cost and wind and solar power curtailment rate of the energy storage system. In the study, the charging and discharging models of wind turbines, photovoltaics, and energy storage systems were first analyzed.Considering the fluctuation of time of use electricity prices,an economic based energy storage scheduling strategy was proposed, and factors such as investment costs, operation and maintenance costs, replacement costs, and electricity arbitrage income of the energy storage system were included in the optimization objectives. The optimization problem of energy storage capacity configuration and charge discharge strategy has been solved through multi-objective particle swarm optimization(MOPSO)algorithm. The case analysis shows that the optimized energy storage scheduling strategy can significantly reduce the rate of wind and solar power curtailment while reducing the lifecycle cost.
