Abstract:The green innovation behavior of energy companies is an essential pathway to achieving the"dual carbon"goals.Media coverage of"dual carbon"goals on the Internet provides a new approach for government environmental regulation, indirectly influencing the green innovation behavior through the public's level of environmental concern. This paper constructs a tripartite evolutionary game model involving the government, the public, and energy companies, aiming to systematically analyze the effectiveness of media coverage in promoting the green innovation behavior of energy companies.First, the dynamic evolution process of the strategies of the three parties and their evolutionarily stable strategies are analyzed, followed by numerical simulation analysis to validate the research conclusions. The findings indicate the following:media coverage of"dual carbon"goals can effectively promote the green innovation behavior of energy companies. An increase in the R & D costs of green innovation will suppress the innovation intentions of energy companies.Government environmental regulation and reward-punishment policies can promote green innovation behavior, but the driving force is limited and threshold-dependent.Appropriate green innovation subsidies and emission penalties are found to be more effective.
