Reflections and suggestions on the participation of geologicalexploration enterprises in the Chinese certified emission reduction market

Abstract：In view of the restart of the Chinese certified emission reduction market(CCER),this paper analyzes the development status and trend of the national carbon market and the CCER market,and calculates the capacity of the CCER market.The paper sorts out the types of CCER projects,and puts forward specific suggestions for geological exploration enterprises to participate in CCER projects.Geological exploration enterprises have unique advantages in in fields such as development and utilization of clean energy,the enhancement of carbon sequestration capacity of natural system through ecological environment governance and restoration,and the use of geological technology to help carbon emission reduction and carbon storage.The suggestions for geological prospecting enterprises are:firstly,actively develop new methodology;The second is to apply for project approval and verification qualification;The third is to innovate business models,including:providing CCER consulting services for emission reduction projects,providing carbon emission reduction assessment services for enterprises,providing supporting services for the government,investing in the development of CCER carbon assets,and exploring"repair+CCER";Fourthly,actively respond to the enterprise's own carbon neutrality.The article emphasizes that the participation of geological exploration enterprises not only aids in promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of the economy and society but also serves as an important pathway for achieving high-quality development of the enterprises themselves.The geological exploration enterprises should actively grasp the opportunities brought by the restart of the CCER market and give full play to their advantages to participate in the CCER project.
