Safety investment,technological innovation and competitiveness of coal enterprises

Abstract：Based on the data of 26 listed companies in coal industry from 2012 to 2021,this paper discusses the relationship between safety investment of listed companies in coal industry and short-tern enterprise competitiveness and long-term enterprise competitiveness,and investigates the moderating effect of technological innovation in the relationship between them.The results show that the safety investment of coal enterprises has a negative impact on the short-term(current)enterprise competitiveness,and a positive impact on the long-term(two lagging periods and three lagging periods)enterprise competitiveness;it is also found that technological innovation will weaken the negative relationship between safety investment and enterprise competitiveness in the current period,but technological innovation has no significant moderating effect on the relationship between them in the long run.
