Abstract：As an essential geological storage site for carbon dioxide,coal mines will play a crucial role in achieving carbon-peaking goals and neutrality.This study explains the necessity and significance of energy-saving and carbon reduction pathways in coal mining areas to attain"double carbon."Then,it comprehensively analyses the opportunities and challenges of energy saving and carbon reduction in coal mining areas.Finally,in light of the situation coal mines face,the study proposes energy-saving and carbon-reducing pathways in coal mines from the perspectives of policies and regulations,project renovation,technological innovation,industrial development,and mine resources.It provides relevant suggestions to ensure the achievement of this goal and promote the development of coal mines in the direction of greenness,safety,and sustainability.
