Coal industry agglomeration,technological innovation and green total factor productivity

Abstract：Under the background of"double carbon"goal and high-quality development of coal economy,it is of great significance to explore the impact of industrial agglomeration,scientific and technological progress and innovation on the green total factor productivity of coal industry.According to the characteristics of coal industry agglomeration,the fixed effect model and the mediating effect model were adopted.The coal industry agglomeration,technological innovation and green total factor productivity(GTFP)were included in the same research framework.Based on the analysis of the influence mechanism of coal industry agglomeration on green total factor productivity,the panel data of 27 provinces in China from 2010 to 2020 are used for empirical test,and the mediating effects of three technological innovation modes,such as independent innovation,external introduction and government support,are further studied.The study found that there is a significant inverted U-shaped relationship between coal industry agglomeration and green total factor productivity;technological innovation has a mediating effect in the nonlinear relationship between coal industry agglomeration and GTFP.Different innovation models have different effects on different agglomeration areas.Among them,the mediating effect of independent innovation on low agglomeration areas is the most significant;the intermediary effect of external technology introduction on high agglomeration area is the most significant;government support has the most significant mediating effect on the middle agglomeration area,but the impact on the high agglomeration area is not obvious.The research conclusions mentioned above are beneficial to improving the green total factor productivity under the agglomeration of coal industries.
