Abstract:To address the insufficient bending resistance of the roadway gangue-retaining structure,we took the No.4303 working face of Shaqu Coal Mine as an engineering case, and compared the I-beam and yieldable U-shaped steel gangue-retaining support structures.Through methods including theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and field application, different gangue-retaining structures were compared.First, the force mechanism of the gangue-retaining structure was clarified through theoretical analysis. The structure is equated to a simply supported beam, and a mechanical model was established to compare and analyze the bending resistance of the two types of gangue-retaining structures.Second,ABAQUS numerical simulation software was used to establish models of I-beam and yieldable U-shaped steel gangue-retaining structures. The bending characteristics of the two structures under the same loading conditions were compared,as well as the bending characteristics of yieldable U-shaped steel gangue-retaining structures with different overlap lengths. The results show that the yieldable U-shaped steel gangue-retaining structure exhibits better bending resistance compared to the I-beam structure, and increasing the overlap length can improve the bending resistance of the gangue-retaining structure. Finally,on the basis of the above research,a reasonable field design scheme for the yieldable U-shaped steel gangue-retaining structure was proposed, achieving favorable field application results.
