Abstract:To achieve efficient pressure relief and permeability enhancement in deep,low-permeability,high-gas coal seams,a technology of ground well coal extraction and cavity creation for pressure relief and permeability enhancement was proposed.A multi-field coupling model for enhanced gas migration through cavity-induced pressure relief was established, and the influence of different parameters on the damage zone area, permeability, and gas pressure in the coal mass was analyzed. The research shows that the smaller the cohesion of the coal mass, the larger the damage zone area induced by disturbance and the more significant the permeability enhancement effect. When the internal friction angle increases, the damage zone and permeability decrease.A reduction in borehole spacing promotes the connectivity of damage zones, and there is an optimal borehole spacing that maximizes the damage area.Additionally,a lower initial permeability reduces the effective extraction radius.Underground gas parameter investigation results indicate that after implementing the construction technology system for large-diameter coal extraction and cavity creation in ground boreholes, gas pressure and content significantly decrease, the permeability coefficient increases by approximately 10 times, achieving efficient pressure relief in regional low-permeability coal seams.
