Abstract:In order to ensure the mining security under safe water pressure of aquifer in the No.8306 isolated working face of Wangping Coal Mine, and to clarify the influence of Ordovician limestone water on the working face extraction,we applied mine transient electromagnetic, audio frequency electric penetration, and radio wave penetration methods for the comprehensive geophysical exploration, obtained the water-rich zones and structural development status in the floor strata, and analyzed the mining security under safe water pressure of aquifer. The key findings demonstrate that:There is a nearly water-free intrusive rock body(gray-green rock wall)along the coal seam.Within 40 m underneath the floor, there are several"weak-to-moderate"water-bearing fissures/low-resistivity zones, and one fault-conduit structure in the southeast, potentially connecting to Ordovician limestone water. It can be inferred that the Ordovician limestone aquifer over 40 m beneath the floor is of"moderate-to-strong"water abundance.During the normal mining of the No.8306 working face, water inrush is not likely to occur. However,if there are concealed penetrating water conducting structures in the section, especially in the overlapping area between the determined aquifer and the structure in the mine geophysical circle, there is a risk of Ordovician limestone water inrush from the coal seam floor. At this time, measures such as drilling and hydrological monitoring and warning should be taken to prevent water inrush.
