Abstract:Mitigating spontaneous combustion during longwall panel retreat remains a critical safety challenge in underground coal mining. Here,we present an automated, precise gel preparation and pimping system developed for the 21802 working face at Qinglong Mine, integrating optimized gel parameters(diffusion radius, composition ratio, and injection volume)with targeted delivery between hydraulic supports and working face end zones.Field trials demonstrate that precision injection reduces CO concentrations in upper corners and goaf areas from 14×10-6(pre-treatment peak)to below 1×10-6.The technology eliminates the need for large-scale,high-volume gel applications, and greatly saves the cost while ensuring the safety in retreat mining.
