Abstract:The roof of 12403 8.8 m super-high fully mechanized mining face in Shangwan Coal Mine is not easy to collapse naturally. In the initial mining stage of the working face,it is likely to lead to large initial roof caving interval, and produce strong mine pressure and hurricane phenomenon when the roof collapses instantly in a large area, causing casualties and equipment damage and other disasters. In order to ensure the safety of the initial production of the working face, the underground directional long borehole hydraulic fracturing technology was used to pre-fracture the roof of the open-off cut,and with the forced caving technology of the open-off cut triangle, the roof was caved in the open-off cut during the initial mining. The practice showed that:through the construction of long directional borehole segmental hydraulic fracturing of coal seam roof at the working face, strength of the roof and the initial roof caving interval were reduced, which provides technical guarantee for safe and efficient recovery, and management experience for initial roof caving of high-cutting mining face.
