Overview and outlook on development of mine construction technologies

Abstract：New processes and technologies for mine construction under complex formation conditions are discussed considering that underground mining of large coal mines develops to the western region of China and deep formations. The following basic theories and significant technical progresses relating mine construction are systematically elaborated: shaft drilling and mine construction technology of "enlarging one borehole into one shaft", shaft sinking technology through raise boring of mine shafts, development of shaft boring machines, sinking technology of kilometer-deep shafts based on controlled freezing, freezing technology of inclined shafts, sinking technology of inclined shafts by freezing along the axis, surface pre-grouting technology of kilometer-deep shafts, reinforcing and modifying technology for surrounding rocks of surface L-shaped boreholes, shaft sinking technology based on simultaneous operation of drilling and grouting, mine construction technology of deep vertical shafts with super-large diameters, and large-scale sinking towers and suspension technology of shaft walls. In addition, existing problems in the mine construction were also pointed out, as well as the key research content and development direction of mine construction technologies in the 13th Five-Year Plan of China.
