Application of auger drilling technology with deep grooves and wide blades in soft coal seam

Abstract：Aiming at the abnormal problems of no coal cinder, large slag discharging, low hole-forming rate during drilling in soft coal seam in Jincheng Mining Area. The auger drilling technology with deep grooves and wide blades is proposed. The suitable drilling assemblies are developed and applicability of the auger drilling technology is verified by experiments. The results show that the Φ95/60.3mm spiral drill rod is better than Φ110/63.5mm spiral drill rod at rate of hole-forming. The Φ95/60.3mm Spiral drill rod with deep grooves and wide blades has a good adaptability to the seam with the structure of soft-hard interlaying, and it is useful for drilling in the seam. The auger drilling technology with deep grooves and wide blades has its advantages in solving the problem of high efficiency drilling in soft coal seam.
