Research on dynamic characteristics of double-telescopic prop impacted by drop hammer
ZHANG De-sheng
Abstract:In order to obtain the dynamic characteristic of impact pressure, energy transferring and dissipating ways in a prop impacted by drop hammer was analyzed and the impact model of Φ500mm double-telescopic prop was established, the collision stiffness was chosen based on the principle that the period was consistent. The peak pressure errors between simulation and theoretical calculation were less than 10% without relief valve, but there were great differences with relief valve. While the following phenomena was found: the prop pressure impacted by the drop hammer with light quality and high speed is lower than that impacted by the drop hammer with heavy quality and slow impact in the same impact energy. The relief valve is helpful to reduce the peak pressure, and it is necessary to increase the flow capacity of relief valve to improve the impact resistance of a prop. The research provides references for the development of impact-resistant props.
