Abstract:The characteristic of high pressure dense phase pneumatic transport of pulverized coal is fundamental to the design and operation of the pneumatic transport system.High pressure dense phase pneumatic transport of pulverized coal at 1.0~4.0MPag was achieved in an experimental facility. The maximum particle concentration is 640kg/m3.The conveying characteristics of a high-volatile bituminous pulverized coal were obtained. The influencing mechanism of operating parameters and structure parameters was analyzed. The results show that with decreasing superficial gas velocity at constant total differential pressures, initiallythe particle concentration increases slowly while the slip velocity decreases rapidly, then the particle concentration increases rapidly while the slip velocity decreases slowly. The shift between the two processes takes place at a superficial gas velocity equals to or larger than the critical gas velocity at maximum mass flow rate of coal, which indicates the transformation of flow patterns inside the pipeline(such as the particle deposition at the horizontal pipeline). The shift is more obvious at the lower backpressure and the lower mass flow rate.Within the experimental range, the mass flux of coal for 25mm is between that for 15mm and 10mm,coal particles are more likely to settle on the bottom of the horizontal pipe in 25mm pipeline.
