Comparative analysis between open-pit miningand underground mining for Jinzhengtai Coal Mine

Abstract：Aiming at the large mining depth,high strip-mining ratio and unsatisfied economic benefits of Jinzhengtai Open-pit Coal Mine,a transformation plan is made to transfer the open-pit mining to underground mining.Advantages and disadvantages of the two mining processes are analyzed in detail,and the result shows that,recoverable reserves declines under the influence of goaf in underground mining,so do the capacity and service life;while in the open-pit mining,the recovery rate is much higher,the after-cost is lower and the service life is longer,and it is more reliable in production safety,which indicates the open-pit mining is preferred considering thelong-term sustainable development of mine.
