Application of side coal wall mining technology in Wulan Coal Mine

Abstract：According to the occurrence characteristics of different coal seams in Wulan Coal Mine,the slope coal mining technology was developed using slope coal shearer transformed from continuous shearer.The width of supporting coal pillars for slope coal mining technology was determined theoretically and the surrounding rock deformation and failure characteristics of each mining cavern roadway are numerically simulated.The application result showed,using the slope coal shearer,continuous transport vehicle and centralized control room,unattended operation in the mining roadway was realized with high automation degree and safe recovery of slope-covered coal resources.The successful application of slope coal mining technology in Wulan Coal Mine can provide a new technology for slope-covered coal recovery.
