Research progress and prospect of coal caving at the ends of fully mechanized top-coal caving face

Abstract：Aiming at the serious loss of resources at the face ends in fully mechanized top-coal caving face, we analyzed the related problems referring to top-coal caving equipment arrangement, surrounding rock stability of level drift at the face ends, and the natural repose angle of granular coal rock, summarized the relevant research progress in recent years. On this basis, suggestions are proposed, including establishment of caving capacity level evaluation system for top-coal caving at face ends area, improvement of face ends support for top - coal caving, development of automated equipment, optimization of roadway equipment arrangement, and perfection of top-coal caving process at face ends. The research can provide references for further study on coal caving at the ends of fully mechanized top-coal caving face.
