Support technology for large section open-off cut in deep soft surrounding rock

Abstract：According to the large section, deep burial, soft surrounding rock, difficult support conditions in open-off cut of fully mechanized high-cutting working face in Hongqinghe Coal Mine, a support technology was proposed only used bolt-mesh-cable. Through numerical simulation, field test and lithology analysis of the roadway surrounding rock, the support parameters of two open-offs were determined. Pre-tightening force of the bolt was not less than 40% of the bolt' s yield load, and 8m anchor was used for reinforcement support. The early separation and deformation of the surrounding rock was controlled using strengthened support with high pre-tightening force. The monitoring results showed that, the bolt-mesh-cable support effectively controlled the large section open-off deformation in deep high stress, soft surrounding rock.
