Study on roadway layout and critical thickness of interlayer in close distance coal seams mining

Abstract：In order to ensure the safety, economy and high recovery rate in the mining of 8# and 9# coal seams of Guandi Coal Mine, which are close and ultra-close coal seams, we applied theoretical calculation and mechanical model to study the roadway arrangement. According to the study a three -purpose mining roadway was arranged in the floor of 8 # coal seam. Based on the arrangement, the critical thickness of the two interlayers was calculated, which were of proper conditions for joint exploitation. The mining method was also determined, in which stager arrangement was used for the full-height mining in first mining working face.
