Development overview of underground coal gasification technology

Abstract：Underground coal gasification(UCG)is a new technology of clean-efficient coal development and utilization.The paper introduced the principle and realization process,established the technical system,summarized the current situation,and points out the development trend and application prospect of underground coal gasification.The results show:in air gasification,the calorific value of UCG gas is over 4.18 MJ/Nm3,which is qualified for combustion in industrial boiler and generate electricity;in oxygen-enriched gasification,the effective component gas(H2+CO+CH4)increases along with the increase of oxygen-enriched air concentration,which is over 60% when the oxygen concentration reaches 80%,the oxygen-enriched UCG gas can be used as synthetic gas for chemical synthesis;UCG technology with control of gas injection point backing is the direction of industrialization.
