Application of large diameter directional roof drillingin upper corner gas control

Abstract：High level drilling is one of the most effective methods for gas control in upper corner,with the characteristics of controllable path and long effective drilling,it has become a trend using directional drilling in gas drainage.Based on the development of high-power directional rig,four drillings were constructed and enlarged to 153mm in Tingnan Coal Mine.Through the analysis of the flow and concentration of gas emission,it found that the drainage gas flow was related to the distance between the hole and stopping line.The drainage rate was still lower than the high-level drainage roadways in the mining area,but it had an obvious advantage in gas emission per unit area.
