Prediction method for building protective coal pillar design

Abstract：Building protection coal pillar is an important way to ensure the building safety. Based on analysis of the limitations in conventional coal pillar design method, the paper proposed the prediction method of protection coal pillar design, combining the building strength characteristics with surface movement, to calculate the delineation of the protective coal pillar and define the scope of protection coal pillar, with consideration of both building protection, and the influence of mining thickness and multiple coal-seam mining. The rationality and applicability were analyzed combining with examples.
