Abstract:Aiming at the coal pillar size selection in gob-side entry driving downward mining in inclined coal seam, this paper takes the engineering background of 7259 airway in Renlou Coal Mine, and uses numerical simulation to simulate the roadway surrounding rock stress field and displacement field with size of coal pillar from 3m to 10m. The research results show that:vertical force and peak become stable with 5m coal pillar, in which a certain size of elastic core exists, to provide endurance against mining-induced abutment pressure. At this point, the displacement of the horizontal direction and the peak value of the horizontal displacement of the coal pillar is decreased, and the displacement of the middle level of the coal pillar is slower. The final determination of reasonable coal pillar size is 5m. Then, the size of coal pillar is calculated by theoretical analysis. The results of the two methods have no obvious difference. The research results have been used in the field, receiving favorable effect.
