Selection and suggestions of mining method for C409 complex and hard-mining thick coal seam in Wangjiazhai Coal Mine

Abstract：This paper carries out a research on selection of reasonable mining method of C409 complex and hard-mining thick coal seam in Wangjiazhai Coal Mine. First, in order to make the selection of mining methods much more convenient, the general application conditions and selecting principles of the three thick coal mining methods were concluded in the tables. Second, the negative factors of mining which requires special attention were analyzed. Then, a comparison analysis and comprehensive evaluation of mining method selection were carried out. The results show that, top-coal caving method is reasonable for C409 thick coal seam mining under present mining technology conditions, which is consistent with the actual mining method. Finally, this paper gives suggestions on problems that may occur during C409 complex and hard-mining thick coal seam top-coal caving, to guide the safe and efficient mining C409 coal seam.
