Experimental study on whitening and activation of slime tailings

Abstract：The roasting activation conditions and whitening conditions of slime were explored, in order to acquire raw material for molecular sieves synthesis and other inorganic products. The results show that: treatment effect of hydrochloric acid the best. After burning, the in-furnace cooling is superior to cooling in air for deironing. According to single factor experiment, the optimum roasting conditions is 2h calcination time at 800℃, the leaching amount of iron is 6. 07%, the leaching amount of aluminum is 17. 96%, the whiteness is 85. Orthogonal experiment shows that the optimum whitening slime conditions are as follows: roasting temperature: 750℃, roasting time: 1h, size: 150μm. Optimum activation slime conditions are as follows: roasting temperature: 750℃, roasting time: 2h, size: 74μm.
