Calculation of ecological water demand in environmental impact assessment of overall coal mining area planning

Abstract：This paper takes Xinjiang Santanghu mining area planning environmental impact assessment ( EIA) as example, to describe the ecological water requirement calculation methods and procedures in the mining area planning EIA. The results show that, the downstream of the water intake project must ensure an ecological water requirement of 4?85 million m3/a, ignorance of ecological water requirement calculations will lead to a deviation in the water resources bearing capacity analysis of the mining area planning EIA, and further lead to a larger deviation of evaluation conclusions.
