Abstract:In the western region of China, the scheme adopting freezing method and blasting excavation are often used in the construction of coal mine shafts in water-rich and weakly cemented rock formations. The weakly cemented rock layers are distributed nearly horizontally in layers as a whole, and there are hard rocks between. Therefore,it can easily lead to large blocks and over excavation during blasting construction. This study focuses on the blasting construction of large-diameter auxiliary pit shafts of Haizetan Coal Mine, and adopts drilling equipments to analyze the reasons of large blocks and over excavation.Optimization design is carried out from the aspects of borehole layout, charge amount, charge structure, and delay time setting. After on-site application, the block size of the waste rock has been reduced, and it can meet the requirements of rock grabbing and transportation operations without mechanical secondary crushing. And,the over excavation surrounding has been significantly improved without under excavation, reducing the excessive consumption of lining concrete for the shaft wall. This provides a reference for pit shaft blasting construction in similar geological conditions.
