Application of bench vertical drilling blasting technology in tunnel excavation

Abstract：In order to improve the efficiency of tunnel blasting excavation and save labor costs,based on the actual situation of Huangtai Tunnel blasting project of National Trunk Highway No.109,the bench of the tunnel is blasted through drilling vertical boreholes,and some rock masses are reserved on both sides of the border wall to support the upper arch.The blasting effect,blasting vibration speed,first lining damage and tunnel excavation footage are compared with horizontal drilling blasting.The results show that the excavation speed and blasting effect of vertical drilling blasting are better than those of horizontal drilling blasting,and the reserved rock mass on both sides is more conducive to the stability of tunnel arch.The blasting vibration velocity of vertical drilling is less than that of horizontal drilling,and the blasting does not cause damage to the first lining.The practical application shows that the vertical drilling blasting can achieve better results in the bench blasting of tunnel excavation,which is worthy of popularization and application in tunnel excavation.
