Abstract：This paper discusses the chemical reaction mechanism of Silicon delay composition and with zirconium powder. And the experiment proves that deflagration velocity, delay-time precision and storage stability of delay-time of theSilicon delay composition can be improved effectively, when zirconium powder adds to the Silicon delay composition. Therefore, it provides a technical way for solving the problems on detonators containing Silicon delay composition, such as second magnitude drift and irregularity.
