Study on the Safety of Ignition Ball in the Electric Detonator Crimping Operation Process
Abstract:In view of the possible safety problems in the process of electric detonator crimping operation, the friction and impact experiments in crimping operation process have been designed and the ignition characteristics of the ignition ball in crimping operation process have been studied. The results show that the friction and impact sensitivity of ignition ball produced by potassium picrate is better than that of DDNP and also better than that of potassium chlorate-carbon system. The safety of crimping operation process can be greatly improved through choosing potassium picrate to produce ignition ball and passivating the surface of ignaition ball.
