Application of High Pressure Water Pre-splitting Forced Caving Technology in Shendong Mining Area

Abstract：For the safety problems of forced caving operation by blasting for hard roof in Shendong Mining Area,the high pressure water pre-splitting forced caving technology is introduced.Through mining industry application at ten working faces of six coal mines in Shendong Mining Area,it shows that high pressure water pre-splitting can increase and expand the roof crack,weaken hard roof,eliminate large hanging roof in goaf during the initial mining period;with the "gentle" rock pressure of working face,the first caving step distance of basic roof is shortened,which does not affect the normal production;compared to blasting caving,this technology is safe,economic,environmental,and each working face can save costs about 2 to 5 million yuan.
