Experimental Study on Cut Blasting with Slotted Cartridge

Abstract：The technology of directional fraction blasting with slotted cartridge was introduced into cut blasting,which aimed at resolving bottleneck problem of medium-length hole blasting.At first,cement mortar model tests were carried out,in which the directional fraction properties of slotted cartridge was studied.Then,rectangular cut blasting field tests with slotted cartridge was performed according to model test results.At last,full-face blasting field tests were carried out.The results showed that slotted cartridge had strong directional fraction ability.The borehole utilization ratios were 94.5% and 93.1% respectively with rectangular and triangular cut full-face blasting.Cut blasting with slotted cartridge improved efficiency of explosives greatly,which eliminated the clipping of deep rock effectively.Slotted cartridge cut blasting brought forward a new solution to deep rock excavation blasting.
