Abstract:In order to explore the parameters under the optimal performance of the cotton-based Al-air battery, the parameters of electrolyte types, electrolyte concentrations, electrode area ratios, cotton cloth widths and cotton layers were studied to obtain the optimal performance parameters. The experimental results show that the Al-air battery has better electric performance and discharge performance in KOH electrolyte than in NaOH electrolyte. However, when the current density is 10 mA/cm2,the specific capacity of the battery in KOH electrolyte is 489 mAh/g,which is lower than that(547 mAh/g)in the NaOH electrolyte. The battery performance achieves the best when the KOH electrolyte concentration is 4 mol/L,the electrode area ratio is 1∶1,the width of cotton cloth is 10 mm,and the number of cotton layers is 1 layer. The peak power density is(23.51±0.27)mW/cm2,and the limit current density is(72.26±2.41)mA/cm2.
