Abstract:To address the critical issues during the transition period of Heishan Open-pit Coal Mine, including insufficient external dump capacity, urgent internal dumping demand, unbalanced release rates, and extended transportation distances,we conduct a comprehensive comparison between potential dumping spaces and transportation system distances, present solutions including the prioritized eastern-slope mining combined with reverse internal dumping, transportation system optimization by retaining Line No.2 and backfilling Line No.3,and a prioritized boundary expansion scheme for the southern external dump. The results demonstrate that the total capacity of the reverse internal dump reaches 25 876.97×104 m3,retaining Line No.2 and backfilling Line No.3 can release an additional 7 418×104 m3 of external dumping capacity. The prioritized boundary expansion scheme for the southern external dump effectively minimizes land occupation for external disposal.
