Study on change characteristics of reclaimed soil bulk density in Pingshuo Open-pit Mine

Abstract:In order to clarify the characteristics of soil bulk density changes in reclaimed areas and the response to reclamation time and methods,Pingshuo Open-pit Mine reclamation flat plate is taken as the research object.A combination of field sampling and indoor analysis is used to analyze the effects of different reclamation years and land use methods on soil bulk density numerical changes. The results show that the bulk density of the reclaimed flat soil ranged from 1.21 to 2.01 g/cm3,with an average of 1.58±0.17 g/cm3.As the depth of the soil layer increases, the soil bulk density shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. The soil bulk density decreases with the increase of reclamation time, and the soil bulk density after more than 20 years of reclamation is significantly lower than that of other reclamation periods(P<0.05).The soil bulk density of forest land is lower than that of cultivated land and grassland in all soil layers, while cultivated land only has a lower surface bulk density than grassland, and the soil layers of 20~60 cm and 60~100 cm are higher than grassland. There is an interaction between the reclamation period and land use mode.As the reclamation period increases, the soil bulk density of cultivated land increases, while the soil bulk density of forest land and grassland shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. Therefore, based on long-term reclamation results, forest and grassland reclamation have better effects. The research results can provide data support for soil improvement, soil quality improvement, and rational utilization of land resources in reclaimed land in mining areas, which also provide scientific basis for the implementation of land reclamation models and ecological reconstruction measures in mining areas.
