Abstract:The Dabaoshan Mine open-pit slope has historically experienced multiple small-scale landslide incidents. To mitigate slope accidents, this article focuses on the western slope of Dabaoshan Mine as the engineering context, uses Dips software to analyze and group fractures in nine failure-prone areas, identifying dominant structural planes that influence slope stability.By examining the relationship between the orientation of dominant structural planes and the slope surface in stereographic projection diagrams, the failure probability of step slopes in each area is assessed. The results indicate that west slope investigation area in Dabaoshan Mine occurs three potential landslide modes:planar failure is likely in Areas 1,3,and 6;wedge failure in Areas 2,7,and 8;and toppling failure in Areas 4,5,and 9,with failure types showing a significant positive correlation with fracture development characteristics. The probability of planar failure is relatively high in Areas 1,3,and 6(0.33~0.5),while wedge failure probability is lower in Areas 2,7,and 8(0.16~0.33).Areas 4,5,and 9 exhibit notable toppling failure risks(0.33~0.5).
