Effect and countermeasures of goaf on open-pit mining

Abstract：Taking goaf group in Pingshuo mining area as engineering instance, the article presents the risk assessment method and the determining method for the best treatment time in open-pit mine goaf. According to structural mechanics and materials mechanics theories, the mine establishes the corresponding relations between the smallest security thickness and goaf span, which has important significance for guiding the production and the maintenance of operating personnel and equipment safety.
