Analysis on slope control and stability with weak intercalated layer

Abstract：Aiming at the present situation of south slope in Pingshuo East Open-pit Mine, the mine proposes the phased large-scale cutting slope. Using the limit equilibrium method and discrete element method , the article analyzes the slope stability under different back pressing height. The results show that gravel back pressing method can effectively improve the slope stability, control the shear destruction of soft interlayer and protect the safety of the transportation platform. And the reasonable gravel back pressing height is 10 m.
